M.A.C Eyeshadow in Black Tied - Review

It is like the midnight sky captured in a pot, My favorite shade from M.A.C is Black Tied.
It is a beautiful pigmented matte black with silver, green and pink sparkles.
It is stated on the M.A.C website that there is only silver glitter but i swear that it is not just silver!
It is such beautiful shade and so pretty to look at.
In terms of pigmentation,it is good but so much colour and depth can be built up. Like with all eyeshadows a primer is a must and can help longevity.
I recommend this shade to all, since we all need black in our lives and it's handy for when you want to do a smokey eye.
The only issue i had with this eyeshadow is the glitter fall out which falls on the face but other than that i adore this!
This has the standard 8 hour wear unless you physically take it off, great colour pay off, multi coloured glitters and great to use in smokey eyes.
We all need a Black Tied in our lives!.

What were your experiences of using this M.A.C eyeshadow?

M.A.C Eyeshadow in Sable - Review

This is one of M.A.C's popular eyeshadow shades - Sable
It is a beautiful brown shade that has multi tones such has golds and purples. What i like about this shade is that it is not just a brown, it has depths of colours and is shimmery too.
This colour is great for everyday use, it can be used as a neutral over the lid when blended out or it can be used as part of a smoky eye because you can build up the colour beautifully. Both looks are amazing, i prefer the smokey eyed look with this shade.
Pigmentation with M.A.C eyeshadows are great and when built up it is even more striking. An eye primer definitely helps the colour pay off and the longevity.
This shade is incredibly long lasting with the help of an eye primer you do not need to touch up the colour,it stays put until you take it off.
Not the most wallet friendly but a treat once in a while am sure is worth it! M.A.C eyeshadow pots do look longlasting, i wonder how long it will take for me to reach the pan of this eyeshadow.
I love this shade and i am happy that it is part of my ever growing collection but now i have been eyeing up the shade Ricepaper... should i or shouldn't i? haha.

Have you tried the shade Sable? and what are your thoughts?

LipSmacker Disney edition in Daisy Duck cutie pie - Review

I am sure that everyone has owned and loved lipsmackers before, i remember collecting them when i was young, it was something common but now the lipsmacker collection has become limited in the UK and i was so happy that i got the chance to review a lipsmacker from the Disney series.
The packaging screams attention with the hot pink and contrasting teal. The character is Daisy duck and the lipsmacker is called cutie pie.
Ahh how do i even begin to describe the scent?! it is very candy like and delicious.
What i love about this particular lipsmacker is that it gives off a subtle pink tint and it is very moisturizing on the lips. It also has the standard formula - non shimmer, smooth and shiny.

Overall this is guaranteed a hit amongst all age groups, who could not resist a bit of disney paired with THE lipsmacker?!

M.A.C Studio fix Powder plus Foundation - Review

Ahh the good ol' M.A.C studio fix powder... how do i even begin to describe such a fantastic product that is popular and loved by many?
This is my absolute go to product and it was one of the first ever product from M.A.C that i bought and tried and i instantly fell in love with the performance of this powder and i could not even find a flaw.
The shade i use now is NC20 which is perfect for my complexion, though it may seem light for typical asian skintones, it's perfect for my skin and it does not leave me looking ill or ghostly.

It has a silky smooth texture and it glides on so effortlessly and covers beautifully. For a powder, its one of the most pigmented foundations I’ve found. It’s particularly helpful for those who have discoloration (age spots, acne scars, redness, etc) and with oily skin, because it leaves a super matte (yet flawless) finish to the skin. It’s light as air, allowing your skin to breath and feel free.

Another thing that i love about M.A.C is the shade range, there’s a shade for everyone and i like how you can control the coverage, using a fluffy powder brush for a light hint of colour or using a sponge for a full-coverage finish.
Though i would never opt for the sponge because after a couple of uses, the bacteria builds up and you would have to repurchase sponges and just seems like a hassle and i found that if i used sponges it would make me look cakey so i use the bare minerals fluffy face brush and it's like marriage made in heaven. The brush works well with this product and i tend not to use too much powder because it look's unnatural and i only use it where i need it the most, especially the t zone area. It is also hygienically safe to use brushes as long as you wash them regularly.
In terms of wear time my skin usually lasts 5 - 7 hours depending on the weather and my skin's condition. It is always a must in my bag and i wouldn't leave the house without it!

I love this and i would recommend this to all!

Hot fudge sundae body butter - Review

Bought - part of the Boots skincare Xmas gift set, was half price - £5.00

The only reason i picked up this gift set was because the packaging was just too damn cute, it's basically a small pink picnic hamper and inside it had 5 items: a gel eye mask, cherry face mask, hot fudge sundae body butter, a sandcastle shaped bath bomb and a marshmellow bubble bath.
I was needing a body butter badly and luckily it was included in this set. I am thinking that i should purchase the Body shop body butter which everyone raves about as soon as this is finished but then again i am so tempted to get the dirty works body butter since that smells delish too!
Once you open the lid, the smell of hot fudge sundae pours out and fills your room smelling like an old american diner that sells ice cream sundaes (picture that!)
It smells EXACTLY like a hot fudge sundae and it is hard not to eat this! i mean i just sit there smelling the stuff for like five minutes!
Right, onto the moisturizing properties... It has a real butter like texture and banishes dry skin. I use this straight after i have showered and my skin feels as if it has drank water! it is that moisturizing! Some other lotions and potions leave your skin feeling sticky and well you have to wait until it is fully absorbed but not this bad boy! it absorbs fast which is what we all ideally want.

This was sold in Boots during the Xmas period and i am not sure if they still have this in store, if your near boots then i suggest that you check it out just in case because this is something worth buying!

La Roche - Posay Effaclar Duo Corrective and Unclogging Anti-Imperfection care - Review

This is the last in the series of the la Roche-Posay sample reviews! i hope you all have enjoyed it as much as i have enjoyed testing the products and giving my verdicts.
This is from the Effaclar duo range and this range is specific for oily/acne prone skin.
The product claims to be revolutionary in fighting acne and, as with all skincare of this type, to purify pores, reduce imperfections, clear and smooth the skin as well as help it regain its balance. It contains 4 active ingredients.
It has a gel like consistency and absorbs fast into the skin. Though i do not have any problematic areas on my skin i have found this hard to review because surely you are suppose to test it on spots/blemishes? non?
I have read a fair amount of reviews on this product and i have read that it had worked for some and for some it did not, so for this product i would have to say 50/50.
At the moment i am just experiencing dry skin because of the current climate and i have tested the other products that i have reviewed and they all worked well for me. I may have to review this one again if say i do get a spot?

I have thoroughly enjoyed La Roche-Posay and this brand surely is great and we need more of this! i love french skincare because it truly does what it says on the label
Thank you for letting me test the samples :)

La Roche-Posay Physiological Ultra - fine scrub - Review

Ahh snow day today! and i have for you yet another La Roche Posay product up for reviewing :)
I love trying out face/body scrubs and i was looking forward to seeing what this had to offer.
The scrub is actually a clear gel like liquid but the actual scrub granules are so tiny! i guess it matches the likes of caster sugar.
It has a delicate fresh/floral fragrance which is good and a couple of good benefits that i have found with this scrub are: soap free, alcohol free, paraben free, safe for sensitive skin and the gel like formula is used so there is less friction/irritation whilst using the scrub.
I found that my skin felt smooth, soft and looked more luminous (yay)
It also has the La roche-Posay's thermal spring water included in the scrub which aids the exfoliating experience because it strengthens the skin's natural defenses (pow!)
Another great thing that i found with this scrub is that it left my skin feeling cool and refreshed after use.

I am really trying to find a lil fault in La Roche-Posay products but i am thoroughly enjoying what each sample has to offer. I believe i have one more to review and then i am done with the La Roche-Posay series. I hope you all have been enjoying reading my reviews. I am so tempted to even buy some of the products.

Have you tried this scrub before and what are your views on it?

Figs and Rouge Coco Vanilla balm - Review

Figs & Rouge Coco Vanilla balm* £4.99
Part 2 of the balm review :) now this one is the least favorite of mine. Don't get me wrong i love the packaging and the whole idea of using a body balm but the scent and texture disappointed me.
I expected the scent to somewhat match the likes of a lush product. i also love vanilla scents but this was very subtle and it wasn't apparent like the rambling rose one.
The texture was also not working for me, it was lumpy and had a grainy feel. The texture did turn out smooth after a while because the grains break down but i do not like the feel of it.
However the thing i liked best was that this is a multi use product and it can aid you in many ways e.g. skin primer, eyebrow shaper, lip conditioner, skin salve the list goes on but i don't think i will be using this on my lips because of the weird grainy feel but i will try out the other ways and then maybe i will enjoy the product more :)

Have you tried Figs & Rouge balms? which one is your favorite?

Figs and Rouge balm in Rambling Rose - Review

Figs & Rouge Rambling Rose balm £3.49*
I was sent two cute balms from Lucy rose, an online organic boutique for all things beauty related. What i love about Lucy rose is that all of the products are natural and organic and it is something that is becoming popular, who wouldn't want to use all things that are closer to nature?
The first balm i am going to review for you is my most favorite - the rambling rose balm.
I absolutely love rose scents and so i was excited to use this. I really enjoyed using this.
When you use the balm the first time you can see a shiny film like texture but this is actually a layer of hydration to keep the balm fresh. The texture is smooth, it leaves my lips feeling moisturized and soft, perfect for chapped lippys out there.
The scent is amazing, it smells just like freshly cut roses <3
I was happy that this balm didn't have the texture of Vaseline because i absolutely hate petroleum and the feel of it (yuk) but because of the natural ingredients it has made it a winner and it should be a must for all make up bags out there!.
I also love the packaging and the colours used on this dinky little pot, certainly catches the eye and if your into vintagey designs than this is definitely for you!.

Overall i am happy that i finally got the chance to try figs & rouge because i have heard so much about it and how popular this balm is :)
All of the Figs & Rouge balms are available to buy on the Lucy rose website - here
so do check it out!

Gradient glitter nail tutorial

Finally the wait is over.. I have for you yet another easy nail tutorial that doesn't take long at all and looks great too! Many prefer using glitter on their accent nail but i prefer the whole gradient look and am sure you will agree with me once you see the finished look. I decided to use black nail polish because it looks great as a background for the holographic silver glitter, ahh it looks like the night sky (well, sort of) but you can use any base colour you like :)
I hope you'll enjoy this tutorial, right! let's get started.

The things you will need: some falsies (if you already have long nails then feel free to use them) nail polish of any colour, i chose black. Some glitter, i happened to have some silver holographic which is my fave! a topcoat and a cotton bud.
I already did the thumb nail with some gold glitter nail polish, just to see how it would look.

Step 1: Apply a top coat after your base colour is applied and dried. The topcoat is to ensure the glitter sticks to your nail.

Step 2: Sprinkle some glitter on to your work area and using a cotton wool bud swirl it around in the glitter and start pressing the glitter onto the nail. For it to look gradient you must add more glitter on one end then slowly add glitter downwards.

And it should look something like this :) continue to add glitter where you want until you are fully happy with the finished look. Add another topcoat to ensure that the glitter is protected thus making your nail art longer lasting :)
I am happy with the finished look and this is how it looks zoomed out :)

I hope you enjoyed this lil tutorial, do let me know how you got on! :)

Chanel update

All pictures taken with Instagram :)

What a madam she has become! she is now 8 months old and still as cute since i got her 5 months ago!
Time has flown and it just feels like yesterday that we got her aww! =^^=
I am happy that she is becoming an adult cat and that she is healthy and happy with us.

She has developed new habits (cute ones) that i just have to share with you all.
1) Even if i leave my room for a second to go to the kitchen, she will start meowing loudly and i mean loudly!

2) She has developed love for whipped cream! haha basically in winter i tend to drink alot of hot chocolate and i thought i would give her a taste of the whipped cream (sprayed out on a tissue) now she loves it so much that every time i open the fridge i find her circling around me, meowing and having those cute big cat eyes similar to puss in boots.

3) In our bedroom we have lil storage cupboards, and the other night i actually found her inside. I have no idea how she got in but she looked as if she was enjoying herself, i keep all my extra things in there and i guess she found it amusing to play with my make up bags and other storage items.

4) Lastly she LOVES snuggles and she just climbs on to my shoulders, head butts me and ends up sleeping on my shoulders haha.

I think she has become way attached to me and my other half but i am glad i have her in my life, though she can be naughty i love her to bits and i try not to spoil her too much. I tend to get told off for buying her too many toys but what can i say i <3 her and i cannot wait to see her progress into a yr old cat and see if any other new cute habits occur.

I hope you enjoyed reading my update, i have quite alot of blogposts to write but since being ill doesn't help i will try my level best to post everyday.
Hope you all are having a great week and if you have a cat i would love to know their habits, can be cute or annoying!

La Roche Posay Lipid-Replenishing Body Balm - Review

La Roche-Posay Lipid Replenishing Body Balm is a fragrance and paraben-free body balm for extremely dry, irritated skin, or skin that is prone to itching. Formulated with a very high concentration of shea butter and canola oil, it helps repair the skin’s lipid barrier, is gentle enough to be used on children and it seems to last forever due to the highly emollient properties of the cream. A little goes a very long way.

Although it’s a very good thing to leave out potentially irritating fragrance in products designed for sensitive skin, I have to be honest and say that I don’t like the way this product smells, it’s ever so slightly sour.

That said, it IS one of the most hydrating body creams I’ve ever used. In the winter when my skin feels dehydrated from central heating, I find this product to be absolutely brilliant in restoring moisture. However, a lovely fragrance is really important to me in body cream.

Yet another great product from this brand, will there ever be a product that is not actually that good?!

You can buy this online from Boots for £13.98

Have you ever tried this product and did it help your skin?
