Event | #Tilburytaxi

Charlotte Tilbury is a make-up brand that is loved by many celebs and bloggers but I had yet to try out the products, I was super excited to finally try it out and believe me, I'm now hooked!

Last week, I headed down to Rotunda Square, Birmingham for an event that seemed too brilliant to pass up. I was invited to the #tilburytaxi event which was a part of the Selfridges Live + Loud Festival.
The gorgeous custom taxis were parked waiting to give complimentary mini makeovers and the lead artists there would show you a 'quick trick'. It was also a chance to really get to know the brand by seeing all of the lovely rose-gold Charlotte Tilbury products.

As soon as I arrived, I was introduced to the lovely Megan who was my make-up artist for the makeover. I was shown the cab and was asked to literally jump in. There was a pretty chest of drawers where all of the make-up was stored, everything was looking so pretty! I partially blame the gorgeous rose-gold packaging!
I was allowed to choose a look based on what I already use/do on my face daily so I opted for a sophisticated look. Think flawless, dewy base with contoured cheeks with a soft smokey eye finished off with a cat flick and lastly nude lips! I was even shown how to do the cat flick in a few easy steps since I always get one eye perfect than the other, please tell me i'm not the only one who has this issue! Haha! But I've definitely seen an improvement in my application skills, win!

I absolutely loved the whole experience, from trying out many of the best-sellers to learning a few new tricks. Megan did a fabulous job and I cannot wait to spoil myself with a few treats! I have my heart set on buying the Filmstar Bronze & Glow and the Full Fat Lashes Mascara!

If you have not yet tried this brand then you seriously need to as soon as! I'd love to know your thoughts on the event!

Prairie Charms Luau Party Competition Goodies

Prairie Charms have become my new go-to boutique for all things accessories and ever since I ordered a Prairie Pizzazz box (you can view the unboxing post here) I have been wanting to order more! *hides wallet*

If you have read the previous post on Prairie Charms, you'll remember that I mentioned a bit about a little competition that involved bloggers to create a moodboard on Pinterest of inspiration for a luau party. I started pinning away but didn't think anything of winning and then days later it was announced that I had become one of the lucky winners!
I waited patiently for this package to arrive and it was truly worth the wait!
As soon as I saw the holographic package *heart eyes emoji* I opened it so quickly that I 'forgot' to Instagram it first, haha!

I am incredibly grateful for the amount of cute and colourful accessories that were sent to me, I wasn't expecting such pretty things. Everything definitely matches the luau party theme and I cannot wait to start wearing all of the pieces.
The items that I love the most are: The american chewing gum! I love all kinds of american confectionery so this was a lovely surprise! This gum is watermelon flavoured and well, it beats mint any day! The other item that I loved was the cute bow hair accessories. I own just plain black ones but the beautiful turquoise and hot pink bows will liven up my hair and make any hairstyle cute. The glitzy watermelon hair accessory is also so adorable, not sure if I will be able to pull it off but I'm all for experimenting with hair accessories.

Which accessory are you lovin' from my competition win? Comment below!

NEW Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks Review

From far left to right: 707 petal pink, 745 pink praline and 748 delicious pink.

Say HELLO to the newly revamped Joli Rouge Lipstick Range from Clarins!
Last month saw the launch of a huge 25 lip shades in gorgeous gold casing, the lipsticks are said to be lightweight, super-moisturising, long-lasting and nourishing and trust me this lip product means business!

Product description:
Clarins' timeless lipstick goes for an ultra-feminine and modern tube: we're addicted to it's moisturising formula.
A rich and creamy formula that leaves the lips with intense colour and a delicate satin finish.
Enriched with organic Salicornia extract and mango oil, Joli Rouge intensely moisturises the lips for 6 hours and provides suppleness and comfort.
The long-wearing colour stays on for 6 hours.

Packaging wise, The lipsticks look alot more luxurious, the previous packaging was silver and I definitely think that gold looks so much more better, The casing is oval shaped and feels weighty. The casing has also slimmed down and is finished off with a red base which tells you the shade name and number.

I remember loving the older version so I was excited to see what the upgraded version was like and I was no where near feeling disappointed.
The actual bullet has such a beautiful curve at the top which makes applying this such a breeze! It really hugs the lips which means precision in application!
The formulation is on point too! It's so creamy and smooth that this could pass for a hybrid of a lipbalm/lipstick since it requires hardly any effort when applying.

The formulation contains organic Salicornia extract and Mango Oil which claims to highly moisturise the lips for upto 6 hours. Wearing this, honestly feels so lightweight on. I can definitely say that it provides comfort, just like a hug! It instantly makes my lips feel hydrated, soft and smooth.

Coupled with an amazing formulation is a delicious red berry scent which I adore! I think make-up products should have scents since I think it really adds to the whole package.
I am able to get atleast 3 hours of wear time, since this lipstick is balm-like the wear time isn't as long as the claim but I still think it's pretty good for such a creamy formulation. The pigmentation is buildable which is great because you can either decide to wear a tint or go for full on colour, both looks are possible and it's great that way.

707 Petal Pink (far left swatched): A lovely nudey pink that screams class and sophistication. An easy to wear colour that looks great by adding just that pop of pink that can complete any make-up look.
745 Pink Praline(middle swatched): The perfect everyday nude, this is current go-to lip colour at the moment and I love how this is a no-fail shade since it can suit any skin tone.
748 Delicious Pink(far right swatched): The most pigmented of the bunch, this gorgeous medium toned pink instantly makes me look healthier, this pink adds vitality to both my lips and complexion, great choice for evenings out.

A lip product that ticks all of the boxes and a definite crowd-pleasing product! I'm obsessed with these lipsticks, you definitely need to try this out!

Prairie Charms 'Luau Party' Box

Back in June/July I saw on twitter that alot of the fellow tweeters that I follow were hashtagging #PrairiePizzazz and it was then I had discovered the lovely company Prairie Charms!

Prairie Charms is a handmade accessories boutique that specialises in all things girly, whimsical, quirky and floral and the best thing? 10% of all profit proceeds are donated to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity and the, ‘Kiss it Better Campaign,’ which provides funding to pioneering, world-class treatment for complex medical conditions including pediatric cancers. I love companies who give something back.

I knew I wanted to buy a few things but then I saw that they have created a subscription box called Prairie Pizzazz where each box would have a different theme, There were limited spaces left so I got in touch to reserve a spot for myself since I did not want to miss out! The first ever box had a festival theme so I was so excited to find out the theme since it was revealed later on that LUAU PARTY was going to be the theme! Think golden sands, blue water and all tropical related goodness.

It sounded perfect and the lovely team at Prairie Pizzazz wanted our input towards the box so we had to create a moodboard on Pinterest and I had so much fun collecting images to create my very own board. It was later on announced that me and a few other lucky girlies had won the competition for the best moodboards! I shall keep you posted on when the prize arrives because I had honestly no idea I would be among the few who would win more goodies!
All of the items came packaged in a brown pizza-style box and opening the box really was mesmerising! From the colourful sequins to the care that had gone into packing the box, this was truly a delight to be a part of! After unraveling the pink tissue paper, There were 2 cards. One explained all of the included 'toppings' with their prices and the second card showed the curators who made this box possible as well as all of the blog links of everyone who is a part of the blogger team which is such a lovely idea, I have yet to visit all of the lovely blogs!

What was in the Prairie Pizzazz box?

Eda Bespoke Floral Lei Flower Crown - Worth £50
Hana Bow Tie Scrunchie - Worth £7.50
Catarina No Snag Knot Ties - Worth £7
Acadia Tropical Punch Drink Set - Worth £5
Paloma Vintage Bead Drop Anklet - Worth £12
Dakota Custom Nail Glitter - Worth £6.50
Una Coconut S'more Snack Pack - Worth £3.50
Faryn Hair Clips - Worth £5
Sweet As Honey Studio Make A Mess Confetti - Worth £3.95

Eda Bespoke Floral Lei Flower Crown
This has to be the star of the box! I received one that had hues of pink and yellow and it looks so stunning on. I think I'll have to keep this for next summer now since it's time to rock autumnal clothing and accessories. This flower crown makes me feel festival ready and the colours can instantly brighten up any outfit!

Hana Bow Tie Scrunchie
The 90s are back! I now own a scrunchie after so long! The one I was sent is a lovely pastel blue colour and I cannot wait to wear this. The bow makes this such a cute hair accessory and looks great worn on the wrist too.

Catarina No Snag Knot Ties
I have ALWAYS wanted to try hair ties like these, I totally understand the hype behind them now. I was sent a lilac one with gold palm trees on and a glittery pink one both have already been worn and I love that after tying my hair, it doesn't leave any kinks you normally get with using normal ties or any of that horrible metal bits that can catch your hair, trust me! That's painful if you have long hair like me!

Acadia Tropical Punch Drink Set
I thought that this was such a cute addition to the box, perfectly matches with the theme! The set included cute bamboo print paper straws, a sachet of tropical kool aid which I have always wanted to try and a lovely flamingo drink stirrer. I have already used this and it was a drink that screamed 'sass' and 'style'

Paloma Vintage Bead Drop Anklet
One of my favourite items from the box, I received a gold one with a cute and dainty turquoise drop. I absolutely love the gold/turquoise combination and I have been wearing this as a bracelet rather than an anklet. I love dainty jewellery and this looks great as part of my arm candy.

Dakota Custom Nail Glitter
Nail glitter is something I enjoy wearing and I cannot wait to experiment with the gold glitter that I was sent. You can use this over nail polish and play around with colour combinations. I think this will look great paired with blue nail polish non?

Una Coconut S'more Snack Pack
I'm a sucker for all american confectionery so it was lovely to see these food items! I have to admit it was hard not to devour this as soon as I saw it because I had to photograph it first! Blogger problems, I tell ya! The whole idea of this kit was to create s'mores but I enjoyed eating everything separately haha! I may have to order teddy grahams in bulk soon haha!

Faryn Hair Clips
This shell clip screams warm summer days and wavy hair. this looks super cute worn with a messy side braid. The shell is mounted sturdily onto the clip and another accessory I am saving for next summer.

Sweet As Honey Studio Make A Mess Confetti
I love lil DIY kits and this is so Pinterest worthy! I have seen confetti filled balloons on Instagram and on Pinterest and I have always want to own one! This would make a good blog prop too. The confetti colours are very tropical inspired and fits in well with the theme.

One of the best things about this subscription box is the incredible value for money. I paid £22.50 (inc delivery) and received around £100 worth of contents. With some subscriptions, you may not want to pay that much as you often receive things you won’t use but Prairie Charms takes a note of your likes and dislikes, you are unlikely to receive anything you don’t like from them. Not many companies are so collaborative like Prairie Charms because not only did they ask bloggers for input but they also kept me aware of the whole process which was fantastic!
What do you think of the contents and is Prairie Pizzazz something you'd be interested in trying?
